WE OFFER EXCELLENT COURSES
Our curriculum is closely based off that of the Ministry
of Education for the Khmer program and follow the American mathematics
curriculum for our English program. We follow the teaching calendar of the
public school teachers so that our students are on par with their public
school. They will never have to worry about the discrepancy between what they are
learning.
The difference, however, is our teaching techniques. At Rodwell Institute of
Mathematics, students’ understanding is our number one priority. Our lessons
are designed to get the students to engage and learn mathematics in a different
way than that they are accustomed to. Students will be put to work in
rotational groups to explore mathematical concepts and ideas, discover problem
solving skills, and exchange ideas. Each day, they will have ample
opportunities to ask questions and with personal attention from the teacher.
We also offer classes in English based on the rigorous American mathematics
curriculum. Taught by Mr. Rodwell himself, students now can take Geometry,
Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus. In addition, we also offer test preparation
courses for college admission including ACCUPLACER, SAT, GRE, and GMAT through
out the year. Make sure to check our schedule to see when we offer these
courses.
The Rodwell Institute of Mathematics prides itself on excellent quality. We
strive to bring the best quality of teaching to our classrooms. We understand
and strongly believe in the value of education, especially mathematics
education. We will never compromise our students’ understanding by lowering our
standards, having unqualified instructors, or increasing our class size. We
live and work by our words.
In December 12, 2012 (12/12/12) the Rowell institute of
Mathematics opened its door to the public. Our mission is to serve the
community of mathematics learners who seek quality education and to promote the
importance of mathematics. The school was founded by Mr. Rowell Kev, after his
return from the USA, as a combined passion of serving the community and
teaching mathematics
.
GOALS
Our rigorous curriculum is structured to challenge students
to discover new ways of thinking and approaching the problems. By the end
of the courses, students will be able to:
Develop positive attitudes toward mathematics, including the
confidence, creativity, enjoyment, and perseverance that come from mathematics
achievement.
Become proficient problem-solvers by posing appropriate
questions, selecting appropriate methods, employing a variety of strategies,
and exploring alternative approaches.
Make connections between mathematical ideas, between
mathematics and other disciplines, and to life
Communicate mathematics through writing, modeling, and
visualizing by using precise mathematical language and symbolic notation.
